Physical Science Technician

This is an entry level position. At the full performance level, you will:
Perform sampling, testing, and reporting necessary to comply with the State of Arizona ground water protection, potable water system permits, plant discharge permit, state and federal laws, an international treaty, and to support advanced water treatment research. Analyze surface water, groundwater and return flows to support operation of the Colorado River system below Hoover Dam. Conduct analyses in accordance with standard methods and procedures for examination of domestic and industrial supplies, surface waters, groundwaters, cooling waters and circulating water, boiler water, boiler feed water, wastewater effluents after verifying degrees of treatment, and untreated municipal or industrial wastewaters. To qualify at the GS-05 level, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience assisting with collecting or evaluating water, soil, or plants in a laboratory or field environment; recording or analyzing scientific data; and operating standard scientific equipment or performing scientific techniques. OR Education:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of physical science, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such physical science, engineering, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics. If using education to qualify, you must submit transcripts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
