Summary:
The ADC is seeking a qualified individual to provide clerical support to a unit manager.
JOB DUTIES:
Screens all incoming calls and public inquiries
Calendars meetings, appointments, and trainings
Researches and prepares correspondence and reports
Composes letters and memos
Organizes, manages, and maintains files
Attends meetings and transcribes minutes
Performs payroll and timekeeping duties
Backs up other support staff
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
General office practices and procedures
Business English, spelling, grammar, and mathematics
Methods and techniques of gathering and summarizing data
Personal computers using various software programs
Skill in:
Written and verbal communication
Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships
Phone etiquette
Preparing routine reports and correspondence
Ability to:
Work in a prison environment
Analyze and coordinate activities
Learn, interpret and apply department policies and procedures
Drive on State business
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):
One year of clerical experience in a fast pace environment.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test .

RETIREMENT:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
