50 an hour 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Dining Services Workers have many roles and may be assigned to work in the main dining room or other venues such as the bistro/caf or lounge.
Dining Services Worker responsibilities include waiting tables, delivering room service orders, bussing tables & washing dishes, maintaining the cleanliness & organization of work areas (kitchen service area, hospitality bar, dining room, private dining, dining/caf patios, and other venues), and assisting the Dining Services Directors and cooks to prep for meals as requested.
The Dining Services Worker is an active team member and participant in creating connections in the lives of the resident.
This is a critical position for residents particularly for those residents who only socialize in the dining room and look forward to meal times.
Therefore, it is important that the Dining Services Worker is passionate about respecting residents, honoring Resident Rights and providing excellent customer service.
A Dining Services Worker shall make efforts to get to know residents and learn more about the resident, on an ongoing basis and helps others to get to know each resident - working as a team in providing services.
The Dining Services Worker has the overall responsibility of efficiently and graciously serving the residents their meals.
Resident satisfaction is to be given a high priority.
1.
Organizes and prepares the dining areas for service of meals.
2.
Makes the coffee and sets up beverages in preparation for meal service.
3.
Prepares cold foods, fruit dishes, desserts, bread baskets, etc.
in preparation for meal service.
4.
Delivers food items prepared for memory care residents to the memory care neighborhood servery.
5.
Participates in pre & post service huddles with Dining Service Team & others assisting with service.
6.
Knowledgeable of menu items (including beer/wine), alternates and diet menu items, and to offer/assist residents with choices.

To perform wait service responsibilities for the meals.

Preset tables with decanters of ice water b.
Take and serve beverage order c.
Take and serve soup or salad order d.
Take and serve main entree order e.
Take and serve dessert order f.
Be attentive - offering beverage refills and alternatives when a resident or guest is displeased with their meal g.
Be polite and work quickly h.
Collect payment for guest meals (credit card or resident account charge) i.
Document non-resident meals servedj.
Bus as you go - never enter the kitchen without dishes in your hands or leave without taking items that need to be served.

Wash hands prior to meal service, in between touching soiled dishes & clean dishes, anytime your hands come in contact with your face, a resident/guest, or other surface that could contaminate your hands.
This is a physically active position.
Ability to walk continually throughout the day.
Ability to push and pull dining carts and carry deliveries.
Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits.
Bending, kneeling and occasionally reach above the shoulder level and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use handheld device and other computer equipment for point-of-sale orders.
Ability to use commercial kitchen equipment safely and be exposed to heat and cold temperatures.
Meet the assisted living requirements for criminal history screening & abuse registry screening o Sincere interest in providing quality and innovative care for seniors o Ability to understand the policies and procedures of the Community including emergency plans o Ability to work as part of a team o Qualifications Be at least 16 years of age unless the position requires serving alcohol, then you must meet the age requirement to obtain license/certification in the state you work in.
Have adequate education, relevant training, or experience to provide for the needs of the residents.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
