Job Description:
Responsible for all aspects of the bedding department in three stores in Yuma, AZ.
The primary goal is to achieve a mattress volume of 30% of total sales volume with target % GM or above by creating and developing a motivated and knowledgeable bedding sales culture through training and development while maintaining a visually appealing and well-organized in-store presentation.
This includes but is not limited to inventory management, merchandising, customer service, vendor management, and being an expert with the competitive landscape.
The Bedding Manager will lead daily (Tuesday-Friday) bedding training huddles with the sales team and be responsible to communicate the current standings by salesperson on their bedding performance and goals.
45 hours/week - Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-6pm and occasional Sundays and holidays as needed.
Objectives and Duties:
Update and maintain a visually appealing and effective bedding presentation at 3 stores plus online that is accurate and encourages sales.
This includes:
assortment, tags, walls, floors, signage, and all bedding accessories Handle any escalated customer service issues related to bedding, ensuring a satisfied customer Identify areas for cost savings and implement measures to control costs without compromising quality or service Coach & Mentor Sales Staff to be the most confident and knowledgeable bedding experts in Yuma Create a consistent selling mattress process Daily Email to sales staff with bedding unit sales, % bedding to total sales, adjustable base attachment %, and accessories attachment % Daily - 30-minute bedding huddles.
Bedding Manager to provide current promotions, any vendor communications, contests, and anything else related to the current or upcoming week that is relevant during the huddle.
Role Play and sharing best practices should also occur in the huddles.
2-Day Bedding Training for new hires Implementation of Mattress Qualifier Form Provide Mattress and Base In Stock Report to sales team & management on Thursdays Shop competitor 1x/week (includes online) Inventory Management - open to buy, 80/20 rule, specified budget for in stock same day delivery (indicated with a ballon on mattress floor), replenish and restock top sellers 1 Bedding Vendor Training/month Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to the sale and handling of bedding products, including safety regulations and consumer protection laws Complete monthly/quarterly/annual velocity reports and provide observations and recommendations to Owner.
Bedding sections in three stores will also be walked 1x/month with Bedding Manager and Owner with velocity reports.
Consistent communication with all bedding vendors fully understanding their footprint in each of our stores Bedding SPIFF program development and implementation w/ Owner Job Type:
