Oversees all daily operations for school front counter, manages phones and assists parents, students and staff members Duties:
Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors;takes messages for students and staff;assists visitors by answering questions or providing information regarding school and District policies and procedures;types and translates documents;coordinates distribution of materials to staff and parents as needed.
Assists parents with questions regarding schedule and classes;issues tardy slips and student passes;collects money and maintains account records for miscellaneous student fees; operates office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, computers and other equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Three (3) years experience in office and/or clerical Bilingual required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED:
Knowledge of District and school policies and procedures.
Knowledge of reception and telephone etiquette and techniques.
Knowledge of general clerical and record-keeping techniques.
Knowledge of standard office practices, principles and methods.
Skill in the use of a personal computer and related software.
Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Skill in verbal and written communication.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
