We are currently seeking applications for qualified Security staff for our Yuma location.
School security guard promotes attitudes of student responsibility and assists the professional staff with the safety of students, staff and faculty and the security of the facilities Duties include, but are not limited to, general security duties such as monitoring all staff, student, and visitors on school ground to ensure safety and that all school rules are not being violated.
Assisting in campus events, conducting walk through of all school grounds.
Will assist with the opening and/or closing of school grounds every day.
Other duties as needed.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
(The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.
) High school Diploma or GED required 1-2 years previous experience in Security preferred Basic knowledge of general security practices Must be able to proficiently communicate in English.
Must be able to attain and maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Must meet minimum physical requirements Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Patrol and monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
Assist with supervision in the breakfast and lunch periods and with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal of students.
Remove disruptive students from classes when needed.
Assist the professional staff, police, and emergency personnel in handling emergencies or disruptive situations.
Assist visitors with directions and secure proper identification.
Challenge unauthorized visitors and escort them to exits.
Report any discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, and acts of vandalism to the Executive Administrative Assistant.
Notify the building administration, police, and/or appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency, potentially dangerous, or unusual situations.
Notify immediately appropriate personnel of evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide or individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or anabolic steroids.
Promote student responsibility for behavior and attitude by serving as a role model and dressing and grooming professionally.
Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CRITERIA:
Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions.
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with staff members.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
