POSITION STATEMENT:
The Social Service Manager will act as a strategic partner to help develop and oversee day-to-day social service operations.
This position will develop and maintain positive relations with consumers, staff, and community partners.
While ensuring integrity and excellence are maintained in all programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related discipline.
Minimum Four years of direct case management or experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Experience working with clients in crisis and the strong ability to effectively utilize stabilization techniques that include trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and de-escalation techniques.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Ability to lead a team of employees and work in a team setting with other professionals.
Experience working with homeless, at-risk veterans, and families preferred.
Strong knowledge of the cycles that affect at-risk individuals/families and those experiencing homelessness.
Knowledge of community resources, particularly housing for low-income individuals, available in the Yuma County service area.
Excellent knowledge of and ability to use current Microsoft software computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, as well as e-mail, Adobe Acrobat and the internet.
Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of consumers, staff, and community partners.
Ability to be professional and courteous at all times.
Excellent detail, organization, and file management skills Demonstrated dependability, maturity, and initiative; must be able to maintain program/guest/agency confidentiality and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Ability to work alone and as a part of a team.
Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, address multiple projects in a timely manner and take projects from beginning through completion.
Knowledge of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)/Wellsky.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check and successfully pass Defensive Driving courses provided by The Salvation Army.
Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities:
Learn requirements of Salvation Army program and services Oversee day-to-day case management protocols Maintain a Client caseload Provide Case management, determine eligibility, and maintain intake and client records.
Responsible for record keeping, statistic preparation and submission, and supply inventory, ordering, and distribution for Social Service Programs.
Represent The Salvation Army in attendance to Community Networking Events, Resource Fairs, Expos, and Meetings; and proactively build relationships with Community Partners.
Update and maintain a service and referral information list of community partners within Yuma County working to build and expand relationships with these agencies and to provide warm handoffs with referrals.
Assist Corps Officers with Grant Applications, Tracking, and Reporting as needed.
Ensure that accurate and complete records are being maintained in Wellsky as well as Social Service Files, and that retention schedules are being followed.
Assist Corps Officers with training and supervision of Social Service employees and volunteers.
Responsible for Case Management and Assisting in Operation of Social Service Programs to Include but not Limited To:
Rental/Utility Assistance Veteran Services Pathway of Hope Food Pantry Mobile Feeding Mobile Casework Heat Relief Seasonal Assistance Clothing Closet Referral Network Assist with answering incoming calls and route to appropriate staff member Pick up voicemail messages multiple times per day Transport clients as necessary and approved Conduct initial assessment to determine client's specific needs.
Conduct Coordinated Entry Interviews entering information into HMIS/Wellsky.
Maintain weekly contact with clients building relationships and being present in the event they are ready to engage towards stable housing, employment, education, or other economic and social self-support; and while they are on the path towards sustainability.
Intake, screen, and implement transportation, rent, and hotel assistant opportunities while tracking funding availability and inputting data into Wellsky.
Track, analyze, and input data relevant for county, donor, and internal stakeholders.
Coordinates services with other agencies such as mental health, Employment Security, housing, substance abuse programs, vocational rehabilitation, and developmental disabilities.
Engage with community partners to maximize community partnerships and resources.
Perform additional duties as directed by Corps Officer as related to the position of Social Services Manager.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
