44 an hour Job Summary This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid- point hourly rate.
Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time offer.
NATURE OF WORK:
Under minimal supervision performs work of routine difficulty in providing Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) education.
Research, design, refinement, development, and implementation of training for WIC program.
This position has department-specific responsibility.
Example of Work (Illustrative Only) Oversees and facilitates both new employee and ongoing WIC training for the Local Agency, including certifying that staff has met competencies prior to providing service; leads the development of the Local Agency staff training portion of the Nutrition Services plan in coordination with the Nutrition and Breastfeeding Coordinators; responsible for establishing and monitoring training program goals and objectives; maintains records and documentation; responsible for monitoring the completion and documentation of annual continuing education requirements for all staff per fiscal year; conducts staff observations and chart reviews throughout the grant fiscal year to ensure program integrity; provides feedback for evaluation of staff; evaluates, develops, and implements staff training through various methods including but not limited to state e-learning courses, blended learning approach, and in-service training to ensure staff have skills in providing participant centered nutrition education; provides technical assistance and consultation to Local Agency staff and other health professionals on staff training topics; completing all documentation and agreement declaration; coordinates the training activities of assigned staff; provides training, instruction, and orientation to new employees; documents completion of training stages; mentors or assigning mentors for new employees through completion of new employee training plan; ensures new employee observations and chart reviews are completed and documented according to State policy; ensures competency of staff prior to filing certification paperwork with State office, per State policy; completes PCS Champions LMS course and ensures any other training designees have also completed course; develops needs assessments, objectives and evaluation strategies for public health programs; attends state required trainings and/or designated state meetings; serves on workgroups or planning groups as assigned; ensures compliance with all local and state laws regarding WIC Program.
Serves as a subject matter expert of AZWIC local and state policies and procedures; provides guidance and support to WIC staff regarding WIC web based system (HANDS) to facilitate clinic flow services (certifications, benefit issuance, eligibility, etc.
) and caseload management Completes monthly and/or quarterly program reports and program inventory as required by State office; may supervise assigned staff; acts as a lead worker for designated WIC staff; assists in determining work schedules; participates in interviewing and selecting new employees; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in nutrition, public health or closely related field; two (2) years of experience providing direct WIC services; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires successful completion of a background check; must possess or have the ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card within 3 months of hire; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/R.
D.
N.
) preferred.

County policies and procedures; adult learning theory; principles and practices of health education as relates to the program(s); instructional techniques, training theories, and group dynamics; health promotion and disease prevention.

Compiling data and composing presentations; public speaking; communicating complex ideas in clear, understandable terms; using computers and software; organizing, assigning and leading the work of others; designing educational materials; developing educational plans and curriculum; communicating orally and in writing.
Ability to:
Read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures; write reports and correspondence; use modern office equipment and computers; lift at least 5 to 25 lbs; communicate effectively verbally and written; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity; generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 30% walking and 40% standing; the job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.

Employees who participate in the Wellness Incentive will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 3:
High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) or HDHP-HSA with Wellness Incentive.
HDHP-HSA Wellness Incentive for Employee Only option can receives upto $240.
00 annual contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan:
SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan.
The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
