The position will be specific to monitoring, planning and executing necessary functions for the purpose of maintaining service and compliance of the Department while assisting the Executive Director.
This job reports to the Associate Superintendent.
Essential Functions Acts in place of Executive Director - for the purpose of ensuring continuity of operations.
Directs department operations management for the purpose of management of personnel, resource allocation and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Organizes and directs staff for the purpose of delivering on-time, high-quality, high-availability solutions and services.
Reviews the work of staff for the purpose of assuring the work quality and timely completion of assigned duties and responsibilities is in compliance with district, state and federal regulations and standards where applicable.
Monitors operations and manages projects to increase efficiency and effectiveness of services for the purpose of improving operations and streamlining work processes.
Participates in meetings, workshops, webinars and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Skills and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
developing and administering budgets; operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; planning and managing multiple projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and training, developing and supervising staff.
ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment.
Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods.

Experience Job related experience within a specialized field is required.

/Training As Needed Clearances Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance YUMA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT #70 Addendum to Director (Health and Safety) The Director of Health and Safety serves as the leader responsible for compliance with all state and county health and safety guidance and ensuring school sites have resources necessary to support the health and safety of staff and students.
The Director will be the lead responsible for Health (supporting Nurses and Athletics Trainers in their work) and Safety (supporting School Resource Officers, Security Officers, Emergency Operations Plans, District Crisis Response Team in their work.
).
Provides leadership and training in the development, implementation and supervision of District programs pertaining to the promotion and maintenance of staff and student health and safety.
Plans and implements policies, procedures, training programs, drills, assessments, community partnerships and parent involvement.
Serve as lead for the District Safety Committee Keep abreast of changes in public health guidance and how these changes will impact YUHSD safety practices.
Develop necessary training materials and communication resources to support district and school safety including Emergency Operations Plans.
Provide planning tools and thought partnership as daily operations need to adjust to updated health and safety protocols.
Serve as the YUHSD liaison to the Yuma County Health Department.
Serve as District Liaison to the Arizona Department of Education for Health and Safety.
All other duties as assigned.
