80 an hour 14 hours ago 14 hours ago 14 hours ago POSITION PURPOSE The Risk Specialist I will assist the VP Chief Risk Officer, and other Risk Management resources, as necessary, to provide supportive assessments of Management's responsibility for the Credit Union's assets and compliance with local, state, and national regulatory authorities.
The Supervisory Committee has the oversight responsibility for all audit functions in the Credit Union.
Primary duties of this role include conducting branch and department quality control (QC) reports to determine whether controls are adequate and effectively maintained in accordance with policies and procedures.
Risk Specialist I will report findings that provide appropriate information to help protect the financial and physical assets of the credit union.
The Supervisory Committee will direct the majority of the work with additional duties as directed by the VP Chief Risk Officer to the Risk Specialist I.
It helps the Credit Union accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Assist and supports daily, monthly, and quarterly Quality Control (QC) and review work, as assigned.
Assist and supports the preparation of reports that document errors, risk and QC issues and formalize the findings to all the branches and departments and ensure the QC findings are reviewed and corrected.
Assist and supports the collection, analysis, and provides documentary evidence as a basis for formulating an opinion on the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and activities being reviewed and/or formulated for implementation.
Provides reporting and is accountable for the accuracy and integrity of such findings and any recommendations to management.
Provides support to staff in reference to compliance and risk mitigation.
Reviews the credit union's compliance with a multitude of laws/regulations which affect operations in providing member services.
Supports the coordination of audits or QC's performed and or assists with regulatory examiners information gathering.
Participates in response to exam and QC concerns and provide assistance with corrective action of all related compliance deficiencies or violations.
Assist with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) related activities as assigned.
Maintain priority level work, and proceeds with objectives under minimal supervision.
Maintains an open and effective system of communication throughout the organization and has ability to communicate findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner through presentations, verbal conversations and/or written documents.
Must maintain a professional, friendly image and service-oriented approach are being consistently exercised in all areas of responsibility.
Works in the spirit of the credit union's Vision, Pillars, and Team Organizing Principle both internally and externally.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year experience and/or training in Auditing, Compliance and/or Risk Management in a financial institution is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of applicable federal and state financial laws and regulations.
Understanding of loan and operational processes, documentation, and systems.
Knowledge of a financial institution's policies and procedures involving Member transactions.
Knowledge of Credit Union transactional systems, reports and reporting formats.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to accurately interpret regulatory implications for the organization.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy & procedure manuals.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
