9 Full-time 2 hours ago Full Job Description Purpose Statement The job of Telecommunication Technician I is done for the purpose/s of providing support for and maintenance and repair of telephony systems; instructing district employees on the effective utilization of the communication systems, and providing technical support to site personnel and resolving school site operational issues.
This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics:
This job reports to Technology Coordinator Essential Functions Assesses malfunctions of telephony systems for the purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs.
Assists with projects as required (e.
g.
Help Desk assistance with troubleshooting, problem resolution, etc.
) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and programs following Governing Board policies.
Attends scheduled meetings as required for the purpose of providing and/or gathering information relating to job functions.
Collaborates with district and YETC personnel for the purpose of building trust, developing relationships, sharing information and fostering team work.
Maintains and repairs a variety of telephone systems for the purpose of ensuring availability of functionality as needed.
Researches emerging technologies for the purpose of assisting with planning and designing systems at new facilities or office locations.
Resolves problems with communication systems and/or vendors for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing operation of district systems.
Supports personnel uses of technology for the purpose of providing information, guidance or referral regarding procedures and processes.
Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
utilizing diagnostic tools (i.
e.
oscilloscope, ohm meter, hand tools, soldering equipment, air compressor, cleaners, etc.
); adhering to safety practices; and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.
Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
maintenance, and repair of microcomputers, printers, disk drives, monitors, and interface devises; operation of computer and electronic test equipment and tools; principles of digital electronics; operation of electronic test equipment; electricity and electronic computers; record keeping; safety measures; and basic inventory procedures.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment.
Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of processes.
Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment.
Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans.
Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant.

Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

The job is performed in a clean atmosphere.
Experience Job related experience is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
